There was nothing orderly about the discovery and early development of the NSW goldfields.
Stuff happened … and then more stuff happened.
It’s only really now that we can look back to that period and begin to trace out the threads that connected one event to another – to make sense of those exciting yet chaotic times.
This makes for a challenging journey through the Gold Trails as any one site can only tell a part of the overall story.
Putting these stories together and seeing the bigger picture emerge is part of the fun of exploring the various trail destinations.
