A photographic look through 150 years of Grenfell`s history touching on life on the land, sport, our town, snippets of families through the ages and other photos of interest. This exhibition also includes memorabilia of clothing and items of interest spaning through the years.
Grenfell Jockey Club Races are an annual TAB event with six races and thousands of dollars in prize money to be won. Henry Lawson was born in a tent on a stormy night in 1867 on the claim mined by his parents. The birth site now features BBQ facilities, a turn around for caravans and motorhomes and is close to the off leash park where you can exercise your dogs.
The church was built in 1887 and was moved by volunteer labour to its present site in 1916 on land donated by the Pereira family. Occasional services are still held in the church including local weddings.
A great spot to pull up on the edge of Grenfell. In addition the golf course, tennis courts and the club house provide a great way to pass some time while chatting with some locals.
A walk down George Street Grenfell is a great way to see some of the town’s early architecture up close.
