Riverglade Wetlands

The wetlands is Crown Land dedicated as a permanent Common on 18th November 1870. Tumut Shire Council are the Trustees.

About

The wetlands are an area of approximately 20 hectares comprising a series of lagoons on the edge of the Tumut Township. In early 2004 an Environmental Trust grant allowed a Rehabilitation project which has included the planting of 3000 native plants, 1knm of fencing to keep stock out of the lagoons, over 1km of walking tracks, the construction of a pedestrian bridge, removal of exotic species including willow, provision of seating and the protection of scar trees.
